Description: A slice of paradise located in the heart of La Grande, Oregon with this 4.6 acres of pristine land with over 300 yards of coveted river frontage along the majestic Grande Ronde River.
It’s located right next to Hilgard Junction State Park, giving you easy access to hop on the river and float/raft to your land. There may be other access options, but we have this priced as a river access property. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, an avid camper, or a visionary seeking a unique retreat, the possibilities are endless. This is a great recreational opportunity to build your own campsite, pack in materials to put up a yurt or teepee or even off grid cabin.

- Access Notes: River/float-in access is via Hilgard Junction State Park public access site to the river. The park is right next to this property so river access is close and easy. Another access point to put in, on the river, is from the RED BRIDGE STATE WAYSIDE PARK, just to the SW of the subject property. You can put in and float downstream to the property from there. Lastly, there are trails meandering back to the property – we cannot confirm these are legal access routes or roads without gates, but it’s a data point to be explored – can you see these tracks via drone imagery in the listing.
- Plan your route before you go. We recommend using the GPS coordinates and an app like OnxMaps (see our blog for a tutorial), County GIS maps, our Google Earth map link and Satellite images to map out potential access routes before visiting.
- Be safe when visiting! Rural, undeveloped land can be dangerous due to terrain, poor or non-existent road access, etc. and calls for caution when visiting. Tell someone where you are going and when you will return. Remember, to respect local landowners and laws. Do not trespass. Ultimately, you, the customer, are responsible for identifying access through due diligence. Wilco will not be held responsible for any actions or outcomes by visitors to our property.
- Utilities Notes: You would have to work with Oregon DEQ to install a septic system and contact a well driller regarding well requirements.
- Camping: Camping and RVs allowed.
